Property

SIA provides first party physical property damage coverage for our member districts. Member districts are self-insured and claims are administered by SIA claims staff.

General & Auto Liability

SIA provides comprehensive general liability and automobile liability coverage for member districts, as well as coverage for physical damage involving collision and comprehensive incidents to member district vehicles.

SIA member districts are self-insured and have the benefit of SIA in-house claims administration.

Claim Reporting Procedures

If you are a school district employee, and need a claim form or incident report form in connection with an automobile accident, school property damage or a non-automobile incident, please see your supervisor for these forms.

If you are presenting a claim against a school district or school district employee, the claim form must be obtained from the specific school district connected to the incident. Once completed this form must be presented directly to the district. No claims can be presented directly to SIA.

Underground Storage Tanks

School districts with underground storage tanks are required by state and federal mandate to provide proof of financial responsibility. The purpose of the requirement is to ensure that tank owners respond promptly to clean up releases and compensate third parties for injuries or damages associated with tank releases.

Since the required coverage is not included under the general liability coverage, SIA has secured the necessary insurance for those member districts with underground storage tanks.

Requesting a Certificate of Insurance

The purpose of a certificate of insurance is to demonstrate proof of insurance coverage to the parties involved. Request Procedure:

Complete the request form located here: Request Form
Be sure to attach the signed agreement/documentation as required.
The completed form and signed agreement/documentation is reviewed at SIA. If any information is missing, the district will be contacted.
Once approved, the certificate is issued by our broker and sent to SIA for distribution to the certificate holder and the district.

Please allow 10 business days to issue a certificate of insurance.
