School district personnel must be prepared for a variety of emergencies that can occur on the campus and in the community. The SIA Emergency Preparedness Guidelines model program outlines the elements schools should consider when creating their plan and can be adapted to the needs of the site.
Volume One provides a general emergency action plan and staff responsibility list. It also includes suggestions for handling specific incidents such as floods, earthquakes, hostage situations, or bomb threats.
Volume Two is a resource manual with information including first aid, various forms and checklists and media relation suggestions.
