Woodland Joint Unified School District Wins National WeTip Award
In recognition of their work in promoting the WeTip program in their district, Woodland Joint USD received the School District of the Year Award from WeTip. The award was announced at WeTip's annual national conference in April.
Woodland has been an enthusiastic supporter of the program since SIA adopted the program in 2005. They have taken advantage of the free posters, wallet cards and magnets offered to SIA member districts to help promote the program. They have also purchased and installed metal signs for each school for an ongoing reminder to all campus visitors. Woodland has recognized that the WeTip program helps prevent potential crimes on campus.
SIA wants to acknowledge Sherri Brown of Woodland for her energy in promoting the program. She has worked with the district schools and departments to ensure that the WeTip message is communicated and has actively requested materials for distribution to students, staff and the community.
We encourage all our member districts to take advantage of the WeTip program. Access to the crime reporting hotline for our member districts is free. SIA also provides free materials to help promote it at your site. For more information contact your district's WeTip liaison or Prevention Services.
